Rebuilding the scheduling calendar for a hospital network
Brought in on contract as a frontend developer on the platform team.

The situation
Ascension needed frontend work on a platform used across its hospital network, with scheduling as the piece that mattered most. Scheduling is where a health system’s operational reality meets its software: it is used constantly, by people who cannot stop to work around it, and it touches clinical and administrative workflows at the same time.
My role
Frontend developer on the platform team, working in React 17 and TypeScript alongside the backend and QA teams.
The challenge
The calendar needed a full revamp rather than incremental repair, and it had to be done inside a healthcare environment where compliance is a constraint on the work rather than a review at the end of it. The engagement also ran through a period of organizational restructuring, which is the ordinary condition of enterprise work more often than anyone admits — the useful skill is delivering something coherent while priorities move.
The outcome
The revamped calendar was delivered into the platform used across the hospital network, with test coverage and QA sign-off carried through the whole feature cycle rather than bolted on at the end.
